Hillsong United in Manila...? YES!
You've been singing their songs. You may not know it, but you have,
you are. And singing them always gives you that energetic feeling,
where you just want to jump up and down and dance and even kneel down
and just praise God for being who He is in your life.
You've probably waited on their CDs, waiting for them to be released
here. You've watched their videos, moved at the sight of thousands of
people raising their hands up in the air in surrender to God. You've
marveled at their band, at how flawless they sound, at how they could
play their instruments like that.
You've probably been through a lot praisefests and worships before,
but you've probably always wondered how it felt to be there with the
band who wrote and first sang the songs you are singing. You've
probably wished and dreamed of going to where they are from, and fully
experience what it feels like to sing and pray in a worship that they
led.
And you've most probably wish they'd visit the country, and you're
definitely sure that you'll be there if ever they do.
Well, stop wishing and dreaming because this is your chance to worship
with them!

SOME QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT ASK AND ANSWERS YOU'D LIKE TO KNOW:
(Note that this FAQ are questions we asked the organizers in behalf of
all the other people who might ask the same questions so as you won't
have to ask them anymore. Since this isn't done by organizers, some
information may not be complete. You may want to ask again, but that
depends on you. :p)
Is this for real? This is not a joke, as in?
> Yes, it is for real. No joke. Try calling the number and ask if you're still doubtful. :)
Where is Rizal Stadium, exactly?
> Rizal Stadium is located behind De La Salle University - Manila in Taft Avenue. You ride the LRT1 to Vito Cruz, go down and walk AWAY from La Salle, turn right at Torre Lorenzo, walk until you get to the entrance of Rizal Stadium. We're still not sure WHERE in Rizal Stadium it's going to be held, basta it's there. :P
How many people from the Hillsong United team are coming? Who are they?
> According to the organizers, 14 people are coming from the United team. We're not sure who they are though. I guess we'll see on November 21. :)
November 21 is a Tuesday? Why can't it be scheduled on a Friday or
Saturday night?
> That we do not know. :( We think it's because the Philippines is a part of their Asian tour, and we're guessing that right after their event here, they'll be off to another place in Asia.
>
Are there any reserved seats? Or is it first come first served?
> As far as we know, the P800 tickets are reserved seating.
I watched Steven Curtis Chapman last May and I remember there's some
sort of Hillsong United promo there. Is that true?
> Yes, it's true! If you watched the Steven Curtis Chapman concert in Manila last May and you still have your ticket, you can avail of the promo for Hillsong United in Manila tickets.
>
Cool! So how do I avail of the promo?
> Call the number above and set an appointment to redeem your ticket. 1 SCC ticket = 1 P800 Hillsong United Ticket. If you bought a P1000 SCC ticket, you get your ticket for free! However, if you bought a P750 or P500 SCC ticket, you'd have to pay the additional balance for a P800 Hillsong United ticket.
>
That is just SO cool. Can I get the ticket now?
> Redeeming of SCC tickets start on October 15 up to October 30. :)
But what if I bought a P1000 SCC ticket and I want to buy 2 P400
Hillsong United ticket...is that possible?
> Nope. 1 SCC ticket = 1 P800 Hillsong United ticket.
>
Any group discount? Early buyer discount? Whatever discount?
> Nope, no discount. The tickets are actually quite cheap, if you look at it. :P (FLASHBACK: Patron tickets for Reuben Morgan last June 2005 at the Araneta Coliseum is P1500...this time it's only P800!)
Where do I reserve tickets?
> In case you missed that BIG number up there...you may call 6330596 or 09209453779 to reserve your tickets. :D
>
Where do I claim the tickets?
> You can get your tickets at 2905 Cityland Shaw Tower, Shaw corner Meralco Avenue. It's near EDSA Shangrila Hotel.
>
---
So far that's it! If there are any more questions, you may call them
and if you would, share the answer with the people who you know will
be watching. Somekindalike a community effort, you know? :P
THIS IS THE WORSHIP EVENT OF THE YEAR! You HAVE to be there! There's
more than a month for us to save money for tickets and such, so tell
all your friends! :) Let's all show how Filipinos can rock a stadium
through praise and worship! :D And who knows, maybe your attendance
would make them want to come back. ;)
God bless!
P.S. Apologies to those who will be getting this more than once.
P.P.S. Feel free to pass this email to interested groups. :)

iHero 2006 musical features the return of BOB FARRELL of FARRELL & FARRELL!
Think of it as 'Broadway meets video game' and drop contemporary
Christian music's hippest black rocker—platinum selling Michael Tait
of dcTalk fame—into the center of the mix for the starring role in
!Hero—returning in live concert for a 2006 run.
The cast, aside from Michael Tait:
Anadara Arnold as Maggie; (you gotta hear her songs, she's goood!)
Ryan Edgar as Agent Hunter;
Michael Quinlan as Jude;
Donnie Lewis as Mama;
Marshall Mcluhan as Petrov;
Jason Eskidge as Kai;
Playdough as Jairus;
Shannon Bain as Devlin;
Bob Farrell as Governor Pilate.
Bob Farrell bears dual roles: That onstage of portraying wheelchair
bound Governor Pilate—and offstage of being the production's director.
The premise of !Hero is a simple one:
"What If He Were Born in Bethlehem... Pennsylvania?"
The stark reality of what that might look like: An African American
Jesus with dreadlocks being crudely crucified on a street sign in New
York ( Jesus is portrayed by Tait); a Judas that kills himself with a
.45 caliber bullet to the head; and a drug addicted, tarot card
reading "girl of the streets" updating the role of Mary Magdalene.
A 21 member cast floods the stage amid the fervent blast of rock music
and video screens constantly flashing a litany of high tech images and
pulsating graphics.
Noted Tait in a recent interview: "This production struck a chord with
me from the very first time I read the script. I knew I had to be
involved. People for years have tried to put a 'face' on what they
believe in and this expereience will definitely stretch your thoughts
about the Jesus you knew growing up. It has stretched me to new levels
artistically and spiritually and I'm passionate to be back on the road
with a message as timely as that of !Hero."
The question was instantly posed of !Hero: 'Have we finally gone too
far in reaching the MTV generation with the gospel?' The controversy
centered around !Hero only seemingly served to attract major crowds
and wide praise from critics. !Hero started initially as one man's
creative dream.
Personal note:
iHero is the brainchild of Eddie DeGarmo and Bob Farrell. Now I wish
the husband and wife team would release another album--or maybe modern
bands --PLEASE MAKE A TRIBUTE album! Alt-version? classical version?
Metal Version Anything Farrell & Farrell! Please!
First Switchfoot single out: Needful hands...
First Switchfoot single out: "Needful hands..."
Oh, that's a Jars of Clay song! I meant "Dirty Second Hands"
A letter (again) from the Switchfoot boys:
The day has finally come. "What day?" you may ask. Well, today we
released our first new album track, "dirty second hands", from our new
album "Oh! gravity."
<a href="http://www.rhapsody.com/switchfoot/dirtysecondhands">LISTEN HERE</a>
Lyrics are worth reading because after DOWNLOADING the song (I know
some of you will)--you might forget to see its message!
dirty 2nd hands:
Please don't be so naive
You know you're not fooling anyone
You're not as tough as you think
The dirty second hands, the dirty second hands
Can't get nothing for free
It becomes so predictable
You start fighting to breathe
The dirty second hands, the dirty second hands
Here's the face of everything that breaks you down
But now you face the face of everything that breaks you down
With an army of me
We invent our own enemies
Never sees a machine
The dirty second hands, the dirty second hands
In the land of the free
And the home of the remedy
The old clock is a thief
With dirty second hands, with dirty second hands
Here's the face of everything that breaks you down
Now you face the face of everything that breaks you down
Are you really as tough as you think you blink and you're over the brink,
you bleed but the blood runs pink with dirty second hands,
dirty second hands.
You're not quite as tough as you thought
you bought the American rod the very seed that you thought you shot
with dirty second hands,
dirty second hands.
You might be right the fight might be right inside you the blind
leading the lied to so
(leave a comment if the lyrics are wrong)
The song is now available through all online music providers for less
than a buck.
We chose to release this song early because Christmas is too long to
wait, and we're really excited about this track... we hope you like it
too. It gives a glimpse into the raw and energetic approach we took

Skillet: Its okay to tell us repeatedly about how our songs influenced you!
Letter from John Cooper of Skillet:
Hey Panheads and Skillet friends!
We have a number one single on radio with our new song "Rebirthing"!
Thanks to everyone for being so supportive and encouraging about our
new music.
We have been playing concerts and talking to fans after shows, and
there have been so many awesome conversations and testimonies, and
people who have been affected by our music. People usually start those
conversations with,
"I know you hear this a lot, but...".
Let me assure you that we LOVE to hear how our music has helped
someone through a hard time, or how God used it to change your life in
some way.
Just a week ago, we received an email from a fan who was in the
process of making a bad decision and involved in some major sin, and
when he heard the song "Rebirthing" on the radio he instantly made a
decision to change his life and not continue in whatever sin that may
have been.
He described it almost as a "rebirth" in his life with God. That is
amazing to me!

Never mind the rights to songs by Limp Bizkit and Justin Timberlake, what excites Vivendi about buying Bertelsmann's BMG music publishing group is Christian rock. The French group yesterday rebuffed claims that the €1.63bn (US1.1bn) its Universal arm has agreed to pay is too steep, as management highlighted the acquisition of the world's biggest Christian rock and gospel catalogue.
BMG has almost 60,000 copyrights on Christian music and its songs have been recorded by stars of the religious music world such as Jeremy Camp. In the US, religious music takes a bigger share of the market than jazz and classical combined.
Vivendi's chief executive, Jean-Bernard Levy, said: 'This is the right price for these rare assets.'"

Lori Peters -- the Drummer of Skillet
Skillet is a Christian rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee in the mid-90s. It is composed of John Cooper on vocals and bass, his wife Korey Cooper on keyboards, guitar and vocals, Ben Kasica on guitar, and Lori Peters on drums. They span the musical genres from grunge to techno, industrial to guitar-driven anthematic metal.
First hitting the CCM scene in 1996, Skillet originally had three members: John Cooper, Trey McClurkin (drums), and Ken Steorts (guitar). The line-up was the same on their second CD. With their third CD, John's wife Korey joined the band in the keyboards, Ken Steorts left the band and Kevin Haaland stepped in. Soon after the release of Invincible however, Trey McClurkin also left, and Lori Peters took his place on the drums. Kevin Haaland left the band before Alien Youth, and Ben Kasica took over on guitar.
At the 2006 Ichthus Festival in Kentucky, it was announced onstage that their new record would be titled "Comatose". It is scheduled to be released on October 3, 2006. Cooper has said, "As soon as my feet hit the stage, I know- no matter how many people are there- I'm going to give it everything I've got. I'm going to do the best show I can do; the wildest show. I'm gonna rock it. I think we captured that feeling on our record."
Who is "PILLAR"?
Pillar is a Christian rock band. Pillar originally started with playing in a rap metal style, and has since moved more to a hard rock sound. Their second album Fireproof sold over 300,000 copies with unyielding momentum. Pillar then released their next album "Where Do We Go From Here."
Where Do We Go From Here was released as an instant hit among Christian rock fans everywhere, capturing #1 on sales in the genre for weeks. The album featured multiple hits, including "Bring Me Down" which topped the charts for months. Not only Christian shows and stations played "Bring Me Down", however, it was requested heavily on secular stations as well.
Pillar was voted Best Hard Rock Band in CCM Magazine's 2006 Reader's Choice Awards.
Pillar is in the recording studio January, February, and March working hard on their next album. Travis Wyrick (P.O.D., 10 Years, Disciple and Pillar) will be producing the new album which should release this summer. They hope to release some early audio clips here this spring. Pillar has recently updated their website with a new start page stating that the date their new album called The Reckoning, which will be released is October 3rd, 2006. Pillar is also releasing an EP soon called Nothing Comes for Free and it will feature 3 new songs (including Everything) and 4 live tracks. The other 2 new songs, Our Escape and Dangerous will not be available on the new album. The EP will be only available at live shows and at their webstore. A limited number of copies (10,000) are being created.
Pillar has played at both Cornerstone Festival and Creation Festival.
UnderOath's Christopher Dudley - rocking the keys
On July 28, 2006, it was announced that Underoath were dropping out of the Vans Warped Tour. A statement from the band claimed that the members "felt it necessary to take some immediate time to focus on our friendship, as that’s more important than risking it for the sake of touring at this time."[3]. Rumors that the band had actually left because NOFX frontman Michael "Fat Mike" Burkett was making fun of Underoath and their religious beliefs onstage were debunked when Burkett told PunkNews.org in a statement of his own that Underoath's claim of needing a break was indeed true.[4] Burkett did admit to poking fun at the band and criticizing their stance on gay marriage, but emphasised that he befriended Underoath's band members at the start of the tour, had very civilized conversations with various members right up to the band's departure, that he had a personal policy of not making jokes onstage about anyone he wasn't friends with or didn't like personally, and that there were never any hard feelings between himself and Underoath's band members.[4]
In an Alternative Press cover story on Underoath, Burkett told the magazine that Spencer Chamberlin had confided in him that Underoath's band members had been "having a lot of arguments over their religious beliefs."[5]. In a sidebar of the same article, Burkett stated that he was "not calling Underoath homophobic, but they're against gay people having the same rights that straight people do. I find that to be bigoted."[6] Tim McTague admitted that "90 percent of what (Fat Mike) believes in and thinks is wrong about our country and our government, I agree with... (my) opinion doesn't align with the conservative church or the extreme leftist liberal side, either."[6]
Multiple rumors have flown around by word of mouth and through the internet of Underoath breaking up, members leaving, and rehab stories. Underoath's Official MySpace site recently set the rumors straight with the following message: "Don't belive the rumors, Underoath did not break up, no one has been kicked out or quit or in rehab or any other silly places people are talking about. The dudes are getting ready to do their Canadian tour and then Taste of Choas international and then will do a headline tour in the US after that."

A Love So Pure
Always did it on my own then one day I realized
I was blind,, nothing I could do on my own
Turn, we have found a way to see, look up... feel the Almighty
Take control as we gaze into your eyes
We're just the tool you use to bring this world to you
Oh, Lord, how we love you
With your grace, take away the hurt and the bruises inside,
reach down let your glory reside
The cross carried for all of us, paint the image in my mind
So I will never think I am something,
but nothing am I but you, you are something
Lord you keep me alive, you give me rest at night
When there seems no way to find calmness in the storm you come and
take me in your arms and then the waves drown me no more
With you I'll last this battle and many others
Through the ages your name will reigh forever... never to be replaced
In these trials I face, I pray you humble me
Humble me I want to be like you Jesus more and more like you
I was crucified on that day with Christ
Nailing you there with sin, accepting you
I nailed my soul to the cross and now my life begins
This world so cold but your love keeps me warm
My father holds me in his nailed scarred hands which I put there
But for some reason he still loves me with all his heart
Even through I betray him constantly
He always keeps his arms open waiting, till I give up my old was
God my father, you are the only one that can give me comfort
You touch my heart in such a way that all I can do is cry your name
Jesus Christ I love you
My heart aches for your love

Underoath's Official MySpace site recently set the rumors straight with the following message: "Don't belive the rumors, Underoath did not break up, no one has been kicked out or quit or in rehab or any other silly places people are talking about. The dudes are getting ready to do their Canadian tour and then Taste of Choas international and then will do a headline tour in the US after that."
Underoath are:
Spencer Chamberlain - Vocals
Aaron Gillespie - Drums, Vocals
Timothy McTague - Guitar
James Smith - Guitar
Grant Brandell - Bass

"OK, Jessie Daniels - The Noise: She's got the Kelly C rockfessional down pretty well (goddamn it [sorry Jessie] SOMEONE needs to create a hot buzzword/genre for this music! I can't waste all my time blogviating about rock-confessional-confessional-rock-in-a-teen-pop-setting...it takes too long to type. Hey, look at that, troublegum...not quite right, but what a word). Problem is, this is wholesome Christian rock lyrical fare, so Jessie's using the kiss-off voice to...praise. Similar problem in the new Pink single (is 'Who Knew' the next single?), these heartbreaking lyrics pasted on top of 'Since U Been Gone'...feels wrong. Jessie, whatever you get mad at in this world...hangnails, black licorice jellybeans, liberals...whatever, doesn't matter, WRITE A SONG ABOUT THAT. Of course Jesus is underlying all of this stuff, it's as true for Ashlee and Kelly and Lindsay and Aly and AJ as it is for you, they just don't capitalize their H's and Y's. I WANT TO SEE A WRATHFUL JESSIE. Also, for someone who employs so much guitar noise in her single, you really seem to have it out for noi...oh. "
Your comments? My comment: Jessie's the better version of Bethany Dillon. Or what Bethany Should Have Sounded like. All her songs are angsty and melodic. Makes me proud.

"SKILLET’s “REBIRTHING” ROCKS!
Here's just a taste of what their fans and radio programmers are saying:
"'Rebirthing' has not only been the number one requested song by our listeners, but by the staff here at RadioU! October 3 and the release of Comatose can not come quick enough. We LOVE SKILLET!
- Nikki Cantu / RadioU
"When the hook of 'Rebirthing' came blasting through my stereo speakers I almost fell over! It's intense, melodic and atmospheric. I can't get enough of it!! Whenever I spin this song I'm sent into spastic fits of air guitar bliss! Add this song and you will be too, if not check your pulse, you might be Comatose!"
The Edge Radio Article on "FISH Magazine" --Sept 2006.
Cover is a BIG PRETTY GIRL who's cross eyed. theEDGE Article on Page 24 by Jomar Hilario. From the cover design you'll just probably see a magazine with NO NAME among the mag stacks --and the image of a huge pretty forehead instead. Pull it up, and you'll see the nice GREEN FISH Name.
Mighty To Save review (Hillsong)
Artist: Hillsong
Album: Might to Save
Label: Integrity
Rating: 4 of 5 stars
by John Brandon, EIC (christrock.com)
Every Hillsong release rises quickly to the top of my CD stack, and this one is a prime example. Catchy, sing-able, and worship-rich, Might to Save is one of the best yet.
Get me plane ticket to Sydney: I want to see Hillsong Church someday. This latest offering, recorded live at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in March in front of 10,000, is like a greatest hits of the most recent Hillsong releases, including some from United (the church youth group) and Hillsong London (the church plant).
Okay, so what makes these songs so worshipful and God-focused? Well, that's something I can't easily explain. Hillsong and Vineyard both tend to capture the essence of a live performance without seemingly any effort. The song "From the Inside Out," which appears on the last United release, is a great example where – man, the song itself is perhaps not structured in a recognizable way so that it seems like a "hit" song and there's not as much energy as a Newboys outing. But it has a spiritual center that makes you want to listen, understand what they are singing about, and even join along. It has a way of building in the same way that a Starsailor or U2 song have this orchestrated exhuberance.
The lead track (Take It All) is maybe more of a "hit" in that the line "take, take, take it all" sticks in your head. Still, while there's tons of energy, United is probably a little more over the top. Hillsong's main releases tend to be more adult-contemporary, and there's quite a few tracks here that are slower and more methodical. Yet, by the closing title track song, you know that you are in good hands with Darlene Zschech, Reuben Morgan, Joel Houston, and Marty Sampson leading you to the cross, one step at a time. This song in particular just gets me every time: that what Christ did for us was not just an accident, but He had the full intention of saving us, and the strength and power to back it up.
My only slight grumbling (and it's slight) is that I'm still looking for a song that grabs you as much as Everyday did so long ago and makes you want to learn it, play it, and sing it in church. Mighty to Save has songs that certainly come close to that kind of drop-everything catchiness, though.

Have you gotten your copy yet? ipop sampler
Jimmy Needham = Who's he? = Jason Mraz = Pinoy Paolo Santos. Before you can falsely judge Inpop of telling Jimmy, "Hey we want you to sound like Jason!" --note that Jim has been a 2 year indie artist before this "signing". He's really good. Specially the song "Fence Riders" which is about the church fence at his old town. Just kidding. ALL HIS 4 SONGS ARE GOOD.
There's a band in this album. And they're good too. Yes, you haven't heard of them too! Their name is "Foolish Things". They have a lot of songs here too and they're also good!
I repeat, the cost is ZERO!. Just download them at
